From Malmö, Sweden, Björn Åkesson turned professional in 2009 and has competed on the DP World Tour, Challenge Tour, and Nordic Golf League. After three Nordic Golf League wins in 2023, he topped the Order of Merit and carried that form into 2024 with his first Challenge Tour victory at the NMB Championship in South Africa.
